I don't get the chance to get to my favourite hobby as much as I used to, and lately I have been reminiscing a lot over old French Shabby Chic & Vintage pieces I have had fun transforming.

I have been totally lost in the transformation of some historical furniture icons, that all have a story to tell.

Lately I have been busy building my business of my Sandi Hands Sanding Gloves so you can all share in the enjoyment of sanding like myself; and like so many other hobbyists & tradespeople do too. Soon my hubby & I are going on a huge adventure around this great land of Australia, sharing the news of this amazing product !  I feel very blessed - we call it "GOD'S BUSINESS" as I didn't make this glove to market.  I made it to make my job of sanding more comfortable, manageable, and workable; not to mention saving my nails that were wearing down more than the timber I was working on.

Sometimes we make plans and then God says - "Hold on Jenny - Get on over here & see what I have planned for you!"  Sometimes we here Him clearly - sometimes we rather choose not to (to our detriment).  Well this time I was listening, whilst my beautiful family & friends encouraged me also to pursue this great adventure we are currently on.

When we set out on these great God Adventures, thing don't quite go to plan (our plan), or on the other hand, some things go terribly wrong because we do not listen to His plan, and follow our own discretion - once again, to our detriment!!  Well, I'm not one to give up easily and for the first time in my life I knew God didn't want me to give up either, but to listen, learn, grow and expand His business of Sandi Hands Sanding Gloves.

So, trusty blog followers of mine, watch this space, as you will be hearing a lot more about the BIG ADVENTURE yet to unfold ...

We will not only be introducing you to ideas, stories, places but also interesting people in the trades who are doing some amazing things with their own gifts and adventures.

Our wonderful experience at The Meadows, Bairnsdale ... The minute we drove up the drive way, walked through the tall white picket fence gate & into the french style court yard, I felt like I was in a dream - a beautiful dream ! I felt like I had come home !
We have stayed in many gorgeous places over the years, but this one just took my breath away. I walk through the door and said to my husband "Don't put anything down yet - I have to take photos first - I have to do a blog on this place - it's stunning!"

Alex & Michael have put attention to detail in every area. Alex's interior decorating is something out of a magazine and makes you feel so relaxed and at home. She has thought of everything - even a portable washing machine, which made things very easy for us on the run! We had originally booked for 1 night, but just had to stay longer - we are so glad we did!
The distance from Alex & Michael's Home to the cottage is perfect, still adding complete privacy with a cornered courtyard giving you the space and seclusion you need. I love my privacy and this was perfect. In saying that, if you need anything, Alex will go out of her way to provide it for you, or suggest where you can get it. She is very welcoming and works hard to make your stay perfect.
I can't wait to go back again - hopefully my work with my business "Sandi Hands" will take me that way soon. It is a beautiful part of the country.
I can't say enough - beauty - serenity - comfort - perfection to a "T" - and at very reasonable rates as well - you just have to go there to see.
I will now let you see for yourself ... Enjoy !
All this and only 5 minutes from Bairnsdale town (Vic) & minutes from many beautiful attractions surrounding them.

I haven't done much in the way of markets as I am so busy otherwise, but when our local church announced there was going to be a Car Boot Sale & so locally, I thought I would give it a go.  I had so much fun - it was very busy and very successful.  I am glad I made the effort.
I just thought I would share the following ...

Some important things to remember when holding a stall for a market are:

  1. Check every bit of the stock the day or so before
  2. Redress anything that needs doing for sale
  3. Organize everything in groups for easier packing - displaying & repacking
  4. Make a "To Do" List & a "What to take" List - check it and check it again
  5. Make sure you have plenty of tables & display equipment ready
  6. Make sure you have table covers suitable for display
  7. Make sure you have an ample float
  8. Make sure you have plenty of wrapping & packaging material
  9. Make sure you have signage & price tags
  10. Make sure you have water & snacks handy
  11. Keep note of everything you sell & for how much
  12. Keep your float on you at all times - a bum bag of some sort
  13. Make sure you have business cards to hand out
  14. Make sure you clean up after yourself & be nice to stalls around you
  15. Make sure you have fun !!!!
