How I love to revive good old 'oldies'. I spent this weekend doing just that, and it gave me major warm fuzzies. There is alot to be said for furniture that was built with loving tender care with good old fashioned rules of 'something made to last'! There is too much disposable asset manufactuing these days and it is time we starting to rethink our chain of creations. You don't have to do anything major - of course you can if you like - but just to give something 'old' a new lease of life is a step in the right direction. Not only is it a sense of achievement, but also a sense of well being and thanks to a by gone society of people who knew how to make things last, owing to the time, love and effort they put into creating the object in the first place.
I wonder how many pieces of our now creations are going to be 'good old bygones' in years to come or are they just going to land on a heap of 'nothingness' to rust away & become chemical pollution!?
